About Us

New Braunfels Crusaders

Our organization is built on a foundation of faith and integrity, setting us apart from the traditional youth sports experience. We believe that spiritual growth is just as important as physical development, which is why we commit to praying together before and after every practice and game. Our coaches and staff are more than just sports instructors; they are dedicated mentors who lead by example. We maintain a strict policy of zero favoritism, ensuring every athlete is seen, valued, and given the opportunity to grow in a fair and supportive environment.

We strive to mold athletes who stand out not just for their skill on the field, but for how they uphold themselves off of it. Our true mission is to cultivate the character of the young men and women these athletes will eventually become. By emphasizing leadership and accountability, we prepare our participants to be positive influences in their schools and communities. We aren’t just coaching players for a season; we are empowering the next generation of leaders to carry their values into every aspect of their lives.

The Standard of Our Organization

Faith and Character First
As a faith-based program, we represent something bigger than ourselves. We pray together before and after every event, and we expect our athletes to carry that spirit into their daily lives. Our coaches are mentors, not just trainers; therefore, we have zero tolerance for profanity, back-talking, or disrespect. We treat our teammates with love and our opponents with respect—without them, we wouldn't have the opportunity to play the game we love.

Excellence in the Classroom & Community
We are building the leaders of tomorrow, and leadership starts in the classroom. Schoolwork is your first priority. Poor grades or neglected homework are a reflection of character and will result in disciplinary action by the coaching staff. We strive for our athletes to be the best versions of themselves in their schools and neighborhoods, showing that a true athlete leads by example even when the pads are off.

Commitment and Preparation
To be a leader on this team, you must be present and prepared. "On time" means being on the field 10 minutes early; if practice starts at 6:00, you are in position at 5:50. Because we value fairness and hard work, playing time is earned through effort. A missed practice without prior coordination means sitting out at least a quarter of that week's game. Study your playbook daily and come to the field ready to work—we have a short season, and every moment counts.

Safety and Responsibility

Taking care of your equipment is a key part of your responsibility to the team and your own safety. Being prepared means having your mouthpiece in and ready at all times. If you are missing equipment or draw a safety penalty during practice, you will be required to run 5 laps. If the issue happens again, or if a safety penalty occurs during a game, you will sit out for the remainder of that quarter in addition to the laps. We hold ourselves to a higher standard of discipline because we play with integrity and focus.

The Home-Field Partnership

Walking Together in Mentorship
We believe that parents and coaches are partners in raising these young men and women. For us to mentor your child effectively, we ask that you keep us in the loop on their well-being. If they are dealing with illness, school stress, or emotional trials, please let us know so we can pray with them and support them. To keep our focus on the kids, we practice a 24-Hour Rule: if a situation gets heated, we ask everyone to take a day to cool off before we sit down to talk. We want every conversation between adults to be a model of the mutual respect we teach our players.

One Vision on the Field
We know many of our parents have great football backgrounds, but we humbly ask that you let the coaches handle the "X’s and O’s" during the season. We are teaching these athletes to function as one body, where every player has a specific job his teammates are counting on. When a player tries to balance two different sets of coaching, it can lead to confusion or even injury on the field. By supporting the team’s specific playbook, you’re helping your child become a dependable leader that his brothers-in-arms can trust.
