When in Doubt, Sit Them Out.

The safety of our athletes is our highest priority. In accordance with TYFA requirements and best practices for youth sports, any athlete suspected of having a concussion or head injury will be immediately removed from participation and may not return the same day.

Before returning to practice or competition, athletes must:

  • Be symptom-free

  • Obtain written medical clearance from a licensed healthcare provider

  • Successfully complete a gradual return-to-play progression

Parents are expected to:

Report any head injuries, symptoms, or medical diagnoses to coaches immediately

Monitor athletes for signs of concussion after practices, games, and other activities

Follow all medical recommendations regarding recovery and return to participation

Common concussion symptoms may include:

Headache

Dizziness

Confusion

Nausea

Sensitivity to light or noise

Balance problems

Unusual fatigue or behavior changes

No game, practice, or championship is more important than an athlete's long-term health. NB Crusaders and TYFA are committed to protecting every athlete by putting safety before competition.

Safety First. Team First. Athlete First.
